AFDW 2025 – Tunis, Tunisia

The Africa Faculty Development Workshop (AFDW) held in Tunis, Tunisia, in June 2025, brought together early-career academics and advanced PhD students from across the continent for a week of immersive scholarly development.
Hosted in collaboration with South Mediterranean University (SMU), this in-person workshop offered a dynamic mix of research topics, mentor feedback sessions, peer feedback sessions, and structured group activities focused on academic publishing and research development in African management.
Participants had the opportunity to:
- Receive detailed feedback on their research from assigned mentors
- Engage in peer exchange and collaborative learning
- Learn about the submission process for the African Journal of Management (AJOM)
- Submit revised work for consideration in future AFAM events
Outcomes
The workshop concluded with a renewed commitment to research excellence, scholarly collaboration, and mentorship continuity beyond the event. Several papers are now progressing toward journal submission, with ongoing support from both mentors and peers.
