The Finance Committee is responsible for overseeing AFAM’s financial health and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Treasurer to ensure sound financial management of AFAM assets.
- Manage AFAM finances according to good financial practices and in accordance with the requirements specified for a non-profit organization.
- Ensure all financial records are accurate and complete.
- Review biennially financial statements prepared by the Treasurer.
- Safeguard the financial assets of AFAM by ensuring proper internal controls are in place.
- Review any financial transactions over $5,000 and submit the request to the Executive Board for final approval.
- Identify possible funding sources to support the mission and activities of AFAM.
- Coordinate with the President in approaching possible funding sources.
- Prepare an annual report of the financial health of AFAM for the Executive Board.
