The Africa Academy of Management (AFAM) invites proposals from East Africa-based institutions , (Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda) to host the 9th Biennial Conference in January 2028.

Additionally, all Africa-based institutions are encouraged to submit proposals to host the 10th Biennial Conference in January 2030. AFAM welcomes all proposals, and in the spirit of promoting regional rotation, we will prioritize submissions from regions that have yet to host the conference for the first time.

  1. Application components: Proposal Requirements: Clearly demonstrate your institution’s ability and commitment to meet all requirements (minimum requirements available upon request) and outline how you will achieve them. Include any additional activities that could enhance the conference experience. Support Letter: A letter of support from the relevant University or Faculty official must accompany the proposal. Attendance Indication: Indicate attendance from academic staff at previous AFAM conferences.

Submission details and contacts: Proposals should be sent to Program Chair Prof. Sherwat Ebrahim at sherwat@aucegypt.edu and Deputy Program Chair Dr. Natasha Winkler-Titus at natashawt@sun.ac.za with the subject: “Application to Host AFAM Biennial Conference” by April 30, 2026. For details on requirements, the MoU template, and bid criteria, interested parties may contact us.

Proposals will be evaluated by the Executive Committee of AFAM on a competitive basis and the selected host will be notified by June 30, 2026.
